A resume builder that does not hold your resume hostage

Build a single-column resume in three formats, download all of them for nothing, and keep every word you wrote. It runs in your browser, and works without an account — nothing is sent anywhere unless you sign in and save it.

No sign-up needed. Nothing to cancel.

The same resume twice: the page a person reads, and the plain text a parser recovers from it. Point at either side to see which part of one became which part of the other. An illustration of the structure, not a claim about any particular employer’s software.

What we actually promise

Four statements, each of which we would have to change the product to break.

Downloads are free, permanently
PDF, DOCX, and plain text. No paywall at the last step, no watermark, no account needed to get your own work back out.
Nothing is uploaded unless you ask
Without an account your resume is written to storage inside your browser and stays there. An account is optional, adds syncing between devices, and deletes on request — every resume, immediately, with no copy kept.
No AI writes your resume
We will not invent accomplishments you would then have to defend in an interview. The coaching here asks you questions; the words stay yours.
Three formats, because they parse differently
DOCX reads most reliably through the older application systems. PDF preserves exactly what you laid out. We tell you which to use where.

How it works

  1. Write it

Fill in the sections. Every field validates as you type, and the checklist tells you what is still worth fixing — and why it matters, not just that it does.

  2. See the real document

The preview is not an approximation of your PDF. It is the PDF, rendered live, so what you see is byte-for-byte what you download.

  3. Download and apply

All three formats, named the way a recruiter's downloads folder wants them.

Things you can check for yourself

Every line below links to where a stranger can verify it — a page in this app, a file in the repository, or a command you can run.

  • We re-read the file we just made you, and show you the result

Not a claim that a resume is ATS-friendly — a measurement. The extraction runs on the actual PDF and grades what came back against what you typed.

Open the X-Ray tab in the builder

  • Your resume never reaches our server unless you ask

Without an account it is written to storage inside your own browser. The import parser and the ATS check both run in the page — there is no route on this server that accepts a resume file.

Check a resume with your network tab open

  • You can take everything with you

Export the whole account as JSON Resume, import it anywhere that reads the format, and delete the account with one confirmation — every row, immediately, with no copy kept.

Both controls are on your dashboard

  • Every download is free, permanently

PDF, Word, plain text and JSON Resume. No paywall at the last step, no watermark, and no account needed to get your own work back out.

Read the decision, dated and unreversed

  • Optional AI enhancement runs on your device

Cover-letter Enhance downloads a small model once, then processes the selected paragraph in the browser. Your resume and letter text are not sent to a model API, and every suggestion needs your review before it changes the letter.

Read the adapter that loads the model

  • 1,816 tests, and the number is checked

Including a test that fails if this sentence goes stale. Every emitter is pinned by golden extracted-text snapshots, so a change to the machine-readable output cannot pass unnoticed.

Clone the repository and run `pnpm verify`

What we will not tell you

We will not promise this resume “beats the bots” or is “guaranteed to pass ATS”. Nobody can promise that. Applicant tracking systems differ from each other, are configured differently by every employer, and are only one step before a human decides.

What we can say is narrower and true: a single-column layout with real text, standard section headings, and no images is the most reliably readable structure across the widest range of parsers. That is what this tool produces, and it is the only kind of claim we will make.

The filename convention we use is for the recruiter’s downloads folder, not because an ATS searches on it.

Claims you will never see us make

  • That any resume is guaranteed to pass an applicant tracking system. Those systems are private, they differ from each other, and nobody outside them can promise this.
  • A percentage more interviews. We have not run that study, and neither has anyone quoting a number at you.
  • That a template, a font, or a colour changes whether you are hired.
  • A count of users we do not have yet.

Start with a blank page. Leave with four files.

No account, no card, and no step at the end where the download stops being free.
